High School Internship Program

High School Interns Play a Key Role at the Bisbee Science Lab

The Bisbee Science Lab launched its High School Internship program in November 2020, thanks to a generous donation from the Bisbee Community Foundation. Those first few months, a team of 12 paid interns supervised the "Outdoor Learning Center," a place for students to study, use computers, and engage with classmates during the school closures caused by COVID-19.

Since its conception, the High School Internship program has evolved to accommodate the needs of our community. Thanks to donations from generous locals as well as a grant from the City of Bisbee, interns have been able to assist us as we expand our programming options. We now have an amazing team of 5 high school interns who assist with program planning, preparation, and execution, as well as supervise children during open lab hours and Science Fridays. Interns help run our robotics program, attend mobile lab visits, build exhibits, help out at special events, and so much more!
